The first heat of summer is synonymous with the return of a rather unpleasant insect: the mosquito. Among the 3,000 extant species, the tiger mosquito, or Aedes albopictus, is one of the most feared.
Indeed, the tiger mosquito is native to Southeast Asia but it has adapted quickly to different climates and regions. It is now present on all continents except Antarctica. In France, it has established a lasting presence in three quarters of the metropolitan departments.
